Travelling to and around Blaby District

Blaby District’s central location in the heart of the Midlands makes it highly accessible by road and rail, and within an hour of East Midlands International Airport.

Travelling by road

The M1 passes through Leicestershire, with junctions 20-21 providing the best access to the district. The M69 and M6 also offer easy access from Birmingham, Wales and the South West.

Travelling by train

Narborough Station is located in the district, only one stop away from Leicester and takes around 10 minutes. Leicester is on the East Midlands Railway line from London St. Pancras to South Yorkshire. Direct trains from London take 66 minutes. Travelling by bus

The 84 and 85 buses from Leicester can get you to Blaby in a jiffy. They run up to every 15 minutes and start early in the morning and run until quite late in the evening. Please check the Arriva bus website for further details.

Travelling by cycle

Route 6 on the National Cycle Network provides a gateway from Leicester into the district. Cycle along the Grand Union Canal, winding along the banks of the River Soar, and through the scenic Everards Meadows.
