Blaby Health & Wellbeing Festival 2025
Blaby District Council will be hosting the Blaby Health & Wellbeing Festival on Saturday 1st February 2025, from 9:00 to 14:00. Following on from last year’s successful health festival, this year it will be bigger and better, with a host of exhibits across three rooms in the council offices in Narborough (Council Offices, Desford Road, Narborough, Leicester, LE19 2EP). The festival is open to all ages with fun interactive activities such as face painting for children and the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the health offer available locally.
Attendance will include, but is not limited to:
- The Air Ambulance – Covering 3850 square miles, The Air Ambulance Service provides local air ambulance services for Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland. There will be refreshments provided for a small fee, with all proceeds going to The Air Ambulance.
- Lifestyle Support—The opportunity to have your blood pressure, height, weight and cholesterol checked by one of the team.
- Fibro Scanner - A fibroscan is a type of ultrasound to measure inflammation in your liver. The scan is completely non-invasive and will enable you to get an accurate picture of the condition of your liver.
- Mental Health Support - Learn more about the services to support patients with mental health including Wellbeing HUBs and Mental Health Cafes.
- Active Blaby - Active Blaby is an initiative to help get you active and moving more. It is where local partners are brought together to provide personalised support for you to move more to improve your health and wellbeing. Information will be provided on how to access the Active Blaby services through their website.
- E-bike Demonstration – Active Travel is a means of transportation which is undertaken by physical activity without the use of motorised vehicles. Active Travel can take many forms but primarily consists of walking, wheeling and cycling. Blaby District Council’s Active Travel Officer will be on hand to discuss the benefits of walking and cycling over motorised vehicles.
